What is the life expectancy of your 2CM porcelain pavers? All of our tiles have a general life expectancy of 50 years or more. Here are some factors contributing to their longevity: Exceptional Durability and Resistance: Porcelain tiles, especially those thicker varieties like 2cm pavers, are highly resistant to cracking, chipping, scratching, staining, and fading. This resilience makes them suitable for high-traffic areas and harsh weather conditions. Low Water Absorption: The dense nature of porcelain tiles makes them less porous, preventing water absorption and making them ideal for outdoor use and areas with freeze-thaw cycles. Minimal Maintenance: Porcelain tiles are generally low-maintenance, requiring only regular cleaning with mild soap and water and occasional grout sealing. It is also critical to note that lifespan can also vary based on: Installation: Proper installation using the right spacing (minimum 1/8") adhesives, grout, polymeric sand, and techniques is paramount to prevent cracking, shifting, and water damage. Maintenance and Care: Regular cleaning, prompt stain removal, and avoiding harsh cleaners or abrasive tools help protect the tile surface and grout. Usage and Environmental Factors: Tiles in high-traffic areas or those exposed to harsh weather conditions might experience more wear and tear compared to those in less frequented or protected areas.
-
What type maintenance is required?2CM Porcelain Tiles are known for their durability and low maintenance requirements. Here's a breakdown of recommended maintenance practices for 2cm porcelain tiles: 1. Routine Cleaning Sweep or vacuum regularly: Remove loose dirt, debris, leaves, or twigs to prevent buildup and surface scratches. A soft-bristle broom or a vacuum with a soft brush attachment is recommended. Damp mop with a mild detergent: For general cleaning, use warm water and a pH-neutral cleaner or mild soap solution. Avoid using excessive water, especially in grout lines, and always rinse thoroughly after cleaning to prevent residue buildup. Dry the tiles completely: This helps prevent water spots and potential staining.

How do I clean or remove stains? Can I pressure wash? For General Routine Cleaning see our Maintenance Question above - For Stain Removal Address spills promptly: Blot up spills immediately to prevent them from setting and potentially staining, even though porcelain is stain-resistant. Use appropriate cleaners for specific stains: Grease, oil, coffee, wine: Use an alkaline cleaner or a degreasing cleaner specifically designed for porcelain tile. Organic stains (e.g., from leaves, mud, algae): A diluted vinegar solution or a baking soda and water paste can be effective. Hard water or soap scum buildup: A solution of white vinegar and water or a dedicated hard water stain remover may be needed. Always test cleaning solutions in an inconspicuous area first to ensure they don't react with the tile or grout. Pressure Washing (2CM Porcelain Outdoor Tiles) Use with caution: While porcelain tiles are durable, pressure washing should only be done on tiles in good condition (no cracks or loose grout). Use low to medium pressure: Hold the nozzle at least 12 inches away and use a fan-style nozzle to prevent surface damage or dislodging grout. Test in a small, hidden area first.
